VCAG is here to support our volunteer community, and to assist leaders in navigating challenging situations through guidance, consultation, and collaboration in order to build a Sierra Club that welcomes and supports everyone. When concerns about uncivil behavior arise, we work alongside leaders to understand, explore ways forward, and help resolve concerns in a fair and thoughtful way. We also partner with the People Department when volunteer-staff concerns arise and help ensure that the EOP is applied fairly and consistently across our volunteer community.
Our practices are rooted in Sierra Club values — Antiracism, Balance, Collaboration, Justice and Transformation. This group is about supporting our leaders, strengthening our community, and helping all of us build the organization we want to be a part of. A place where people feel respected, heard, and empowered to contribute.
