Based in Florida, Millie supports major gift fundraising. Millie has extensive fundraising experience in advocacy, conservation, education and healthcare, combined with a commitment to inclusive, equitable access to education and employment opportunities. Millie most recently served as the Director of Philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Florida where she led the successful $100 million campaign for the state’s land and water conservation, wildlife protection and climate initiatives. Millie was a first-generation college student from a Kansas farm family and is an avid outdoors enthusiast enjoying hiking and cycling. Millie has demonstrated her commitment towards inclusion and equity not only professionally but also personally by serving as a volunteer mentor to nonprofits and community organizations in her local area.

Steve supports major donor fundraising with Sierra Club members in the Northeast, Southeast, and mid-Atlantic. Prior to joining the Sierra Club, Steve acted as the Director of Development for The Trust for Public Land Action Fund, raising political donations to help pass conservation public-funding measures throughout the country. He also served as a major gift officer at Defenders of Wildlife, where he partnered with philanthropists to protect North America’s endangered and threatened wildlife. Before his time in conservation, Steve worked on political campaigns at the federal, state, and local level, and was a congressional staffer in the U.S. House of Representatives. Steve lives in Washington, DC, with his wife and their rescue hound dog.

Erica is a seasoned fundraiser with over 15 years of experience in non-profit organizations. Her work focuses on elevating and expanding diverse voices in political processes and leadership. Erica has worked with the Nature Conservancy and led progressive campaigns in North Carolina, including the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. She holds a Master’s Degree in Cultural Heritage Management and volunteers in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. Based on the East Coast, Erica is focused on raising new funding for the Conservation and Outdoors program, supporting initiatives aimed at protecting natural habitats and promoting sustainable practices.

Flor supports fundraising efforts across California, the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii. Flor comes to Sierra Club from myriad campaigns where she has always worked at the intersections of environmental, social and economic justice. Her work started as an Urban Planner in Los Angeles with implementing Community Benefit Agreements at Los Angeles World Airports. She has worked as a Campaign Strategist and most recently led the strategy elements of the Willowick public lands fight to secure 102 acres of publicly owned land for community benefit and parks in her neighborhood. Flor holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in public policy, and a master’s degree in Urban Planning. She enjoys supporting her kids’ art journey and watching their plays. She is bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and is a certified yoga facilitator.

Emily has nearly two decades of development and major gifts experience, mostly recently she was the major gifts officer for the Niskanen Center where she helped grow revenue from $8M in 2020 to $15M in 2024. Previously she was at the League of Women Voters where she grew the major gifts program from $250K to $1.2M in four years. She loves spending time on a local walk/bike path in Alexandria, VA where she lives with her husband and two young children.

Annie (she/her) is thrilled to be joining the Sierra Club after making the transition to nonprofit frontline fundraising at the Michael J. Fox Foundation in early 2024. Prior to her time at MJFF, she spent her career leading fundraising teams on political campaigns at every level of government. Originally from Denver, CO, Annie initially moved to the Midwest to attend Illinois Wesleyan University. There, she received a Bachelor’s in Political Science with a minor in Theater. In her free time, Annie enjoys writing, painting (mostly with watercolor or gouache), and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche. After living in 12 states and D.C., Annie now resides in Oak Park, IL, with her husband, Brexton.

Keegan Parker has over seven years of fundraising experience, including roles as the Deputy Director of Major Gifts at the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and as Finance Director on a top-tier Congressional campaign. Originally from Colorado, he is an avid lover of the outdoors and grew up hiking, running, and skiing in the Rockies.

 

Geenah-Marie Leslie

Geenah-Marie previously served in development roles at the Friends of the Urban Forest and Justice Outside, specializing in raising funds for environmental justice causes. She resides in Oakland, CA but was born and raised in Los Angeles. She is excited to bring her passions and expertise to the team, particularly when it comes to building trusting and authentic relationships with donors and connecting historically marginalized communities to the outdoors.

 

David Taft
David Taft
Associate Advancement Director, West 
 
David found his way to the Sierra Club after spending the past two decades working at grassroots conservation organizations in the Rockies and Colorado Plateau, most recently the Grand Canyon Trust. Following his studies at Colorado College and Colorado State University, he pursued a path in conservation, environmental education, and public lands protection in the Colorado River Basin. These landscapes, and the relationship he has built with them, have driven David to dedicate his career to ensuring their long-term health and well-being. He maintains his passion for protecting these landscapes by spending his time trail running, cycling, skiing, and climbing throughout the west.
