Larry Williams Jr., the Sierra Club's Labor & Coal Coordinator, is a seasoned organizer and Labor leader.

Larry would like to serve as Vice President and the first Head Shop Steward to enforce contract protections for JML members. He believes we need more equality between employees at headquarters, in the field, and at every level of their work. He also wants to create a real network so members' concerns can be heard. Lastly, he wants to ensure that employees will from this point forward feel that they can stay at Sierra Club for longer, knowing their future is secure.

Larry is a former 8 year employee of the International Brotherhood of Teamster’s Organizing and Training & Development departments in the Washington based headquarters. He worked to organize workers at large multinational corporations like FedEx, Continental Airlines, and First Student. He has led courses on organizing and technology for representatives from around the country and works on labor outreach globally. He spoke at Cornell and studied Strategic Corporate Research at the Cornell University School of International Labor Relations under the eminent professor Kate Bronfenbrenner.

He's also the founder of a DC based firm that specializes in labor education and new technology organizing called UnionBase.org.
