Wanted: Students who want environmental justice for all

At the N.C. Sierra Club, we've been working for the past several years to improve our focus and mission on environmental justice. We're ready to team with energetic, passionate students from our state's historically Black colleges and universities.

We're offering two paid summer fellowships for students at the state's HBCUs and UNC-Pembroke, focusing on State Energy Policy, Coastal Clean Energy, and Communications and Marketing.

The Coastal Clean Energy Fellow will focus on research, allyship, and advocacy around an equitable clean energy transition, particularly in underserved communities along North Carolina’s coastline.

The Policy Fellow will help with research, writing, and advocacy on North Carolina environmental priorities including climate change, clean energy, and water quality.

The Digital Communications and Marketing Fellow will use online platforms to educate the public about N.C. Sierra Club’s environmental and social priorities.

The 11-week positions pay $6,000 and offer students a chance to learn from seasoned professionals while contributing their own ideas for driving and promoting environmental, social, and racial justice policies.

Students can get more information and apply by visiting their university's portal at JoinHandshake.com. Please help spread the word!
