Volunteers are the driving force of the Sierra Club. You can help "explore, enjoy, and protect" North Carolina's environment and communities. Check the map and scroll down to find your local Group.

You can help in many ways:

  • Engage with Sierrans near you. Local Sierra Club Groups across North Carolina organize activist events, outings, lectures and more, in addition to uniting for Chapter-led initiatives. You don't have to be a member to participate!
  • Be an activist. Join our advocacy efforts with federal, state or local lawmakers. Participate in demonstrations, monitor public meetings, take part in phone and email action alerts.
  • Stay informed. Sign up for Footnotes Online, our monthly e-newsletter. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Bluesky. Read our blog. Attend group meetings and educational events.

 

Blue Ridge

Counties: Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Watauga, Wilkes
Meetings: Program - fourth Tuesday, alternating months; executive committee - second Tuesday, monthly

Cape Fear

Capital
