WASHINGTON D.C.-- This week, Myron Ebell, the former head of President Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) transition team, said he expects the agency to see significant cuts in its budget and workforce-- by up to at least half to begin with.
In response, Sierra Club’s Climate Policy Director Liz Perera released the following statement:
“The EPA is designed to protect all of our communities, and slashing its staff would mean it can’t do its job of monitoring pollution or enforcing the protections that keep our air and water clean. If Trump follows through on this radical plan to gut this vital agency, it will endanger the health and safety of everyone in this country.”
