Washington, DC -- Today, Donald Trump’s nominee to the Council on Environmental Quality, Kathleen Hartnett White, was caught having plagiarized at least 18 of EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and Air Administrator Bill Wehrum answers to Senate questions. Ranking member Senator Tom Carper and Senator Ben Cardin have sent a letter to Hartnett White on her plagiarism, requesting additional information about her plagiarized responses and calling on her to cite her answers.

In response, Sierra Club Associate Legislative Director Matthew Gravatt released the following statement:

"Smearing science is deadly and dangerous, yet stealing answers to smear science is a new low even for the Trump Administration. The bottom line is that everyone from Donald Trump to Scott Pruitt to Kathleen Hartnett-White are copying from the fossil fuel industry's wishlist. The Senate should end the onslaught now by stopping Hartnett-White from getting anywhere near the levers of power."
