Washington, DC -- Today, in a press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Donald Trump repeated his unsubstantiated claim that the Paris Climate Agreement was “very unfair” to the United States, and said, "It treated the United States very unfairly and frankly it's an agreement that I had no problem with but I had an agreement with what they signed.” He added that the U.S. could re-enter the Agreement despite the fact that America hasn’t left it yet.

Trump also claimed that he feels strongly about the environment and talked about his and Scott Pruitt’s EPA desire to have clean air and water.

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:

“Whether or not he’s aware of it, Donald Trump is already the most anti-environmental president in our nation’s history. None of his disjointed rhetoric can change that or wipe away the damage he’s already done. Either way, communities and lives are at risk as the Trump Administration lets corporate polluters take the reins.”
