WASHINGTON, D.C. -- To top off an already bad week filled with broken laws, even more federal investigations, and overwhelming Republican criticism, today it was revealed that Scott Pruitt attempted to waste even more taxpayer money on frivolous expenditures, including a key card swipe system on the doors to the waiting area outside his office; having an EPA staffer hand-deliver daily news clips to his home each evening; and a proposal to rent a second condo in his lobbyist’s building so that his security detail did not have to park on the street overnight.
Additionally, two EPA staffers revealed that Pruitt recently compared his office in the EPA building to “a prison.”
In response, Sierra Club Resist Campaign Director Maura Cowley released the following statement:
"If Scott Pruitt is so upset that he’s no longer able to freely abuse the taxpayers’ dollar with his frivolous and luxurious travel and outrageous expenses, he should resign. Pruitt is completely out of control, so it’s really only a matter of time before Donald Trump fires him.”
