Washington, DC -- Today, the EPA’s Science Advisory Board, filled with a number of people handpicked by Scott Pruitt, voted to review the supporting science for Pruitt’s attempts to repeal the Clean Power Plan (in spite of an EPA official urging otherwise), the methane rule, and the glider truck emission standards as well as his efforts to limit the use of scientific studies and rollback of the clean car standards.

In response, Sierra Club Global Climate Policy Director John Coequyt released the following statement:

“It has become even more clear that Scott Pruitt’s attacks on our health and our clean air and water are not rooted in reality as even his Science Advisory Board -- chock full of his handpicked members -- are demanding answers about his dangerous actions. Pruitt’s decisions fly in the face of science, the law, and the desires of the American people, and he will continue to be met with resistance in the courts, in the streets, and among his own advisors.”
