DETROIT, MI - Today, The Michigan Sierra Club Independent Action PAC announced a new six-figure mail campaign in support of progressive candidate Gretchen Whitmer’s campaign in the Democratic primary for Governor of Michigan.
Thursday, the Michigan Sierra Club Independent Action PAC sent the first of three mailers to 100,000 Democratic primary voters highlighting Whitemer’s strong progressive environmental record. The remaining two mailers will hit mailboxes between today and the August 7th primary election.
“Gretchen Whitmer is the progressive champion Michigan needs to protect our drinking water and public health while standing up to Donald Trump and his attacks on the environment. She is an environmental leader who has created clean energy jobs in Michigan and reduced our state’s greenhouse gas emissions. Whitmer will be a governor who stands with the people of Michigan and the Great Lakes, instead of the polluters and their allies” said Mike Berkowitz, Legislative & Political Director of the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter.
