Denver, CO -- Tuesday, Candi CdeBaca defeated incumbent Albus Brooks to become the new Denver City Councilmember for the 9th district, one of the most polluted zip codes in America. The Sierra Club endorsed CdeBaca in District 9, and contacted more than 18,000 voters through various efforts including direct mail and digital plans. The Sierra Club worked in partnership with the Working Families Party to elect CdeBaca.
In response, Colorado Sierra Club Executive Director Jim Alexee released the following statement:
“The Colorado Sierra Club is proud to congratulate Candi CdeBaca on her hard fought victory. Denver’s citizens deserve a leader who will champion their clean air and water, their rights, and their interests, which is exactly what CdeBaca will do. We look forward to getting down to it with CdeBaca to work on behalf of Denver’s 9th district.”
