WASHINGTON, D.C. -- During tonight’s Democratic Presidential Debate on CNN, no questions about the climate crisis were asked of the candidates.
In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:
"Tonight, the debate moderators abdicated their responsibilities by continuing to ignore the climate crisis that is devastating communities across our country and the world. While Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans continue to do anything and everything to avoid talking about the climate crisis, the American people deserve a debate about solutions that will protect our communities. Democratic voters are ready and willing to decide their vote based on a candidate’s climate ambition. It is past time that CNN recognize that and ask serious questions about the climate crisis, just like the public is demanding.”
