PITTSBURGH -- Today, while giving the keynote address at a fracked gas conference, Donald Trump touted rolling back bedrock clean air and water protections and falsely claimed both that the United States has already withdrawn from the Paris Agreement and that the American people support his decision to leave the landmark Agreement.

In response, Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune released the following statement:

"Today is just the latest evidence that Donald Trump is the worst president in history for the climate and our clean air and water. Trump has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that he is guilty of perpetrating repeated attacks on clean air and water, and his polluting legacy is nothing short of sickening. Trump’s corruption is in plain sight as he repeated lies and touted his destructive and deadly policies that sacrifices the health and safety of the public for the profits of corporate polluters.

“The American people, cities, businesses, and states have and will continue to advance the United States’ climate commitments in the face of Trump’s dismissal of duties. No amount of climate denial or inflammatory rhetoric from Donald Trump will stop our progress toward growing a 100 percent clean energy economy.”
