Washington, DC-- Tomorrow (1/29), the House Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing on several wildlife conservation bills-- including the Protect America’s Wildlife and Fish in Need of Protection Act (PAW and FIN Act) that will undo the Trump administration’s recent rollbacks to the Endangered Species Act. In the package of bills, the committee will also consider the Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act of 2019 and the Tribal Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act of 2019 that will prioritize Tribal leadership in wildlife management decision-making. Full hearing information can be found here.

Ahead of the hearing, Kirin Kennedy, Deputy Legislative Director at the Sierra Club released the following statement:

“It is imperative that Congressional leadership undo the Trump administration’s detrimental rollbacks of endangered species protections. The PAW and FIN Act will restore the nation’s most effective tool-- the Endangered Species Act-- in saving vulnerable species from extinction. As scientists warn of climate disruption’s unprecedented consequences for wildlife, we encourage our elected officials to step up and advance these protections immediately.”
