WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Representatives DeFazio and Napolitano today introduced the Clean Water for All Act. The Act reaffirms Congress’ commitment to the Clean Water Act by overturning the Trump Administration's Dirty Water Rule that strips protections to the country’s network of streams, lakes, rivers and wetlands.

In response Sierra Club Deputy Legislative Director Dalal Aboulhosn, issued the following statement.

“The connection between the health of our environment and the health of our communities is being laid bare as we see how the effects of the coronavirus are unevenly unfolding across the country. Clean water is an absolute necessity for all communities.

“We’re heartened to see Congressional leaders step in to reverse the Trump Administration’s clean water rollbacks. Without quick action by Congress, the loss of basic environmental safeguards will be felt by communities for generations to come.”
