Sierra Club Statement on the Passing of Friend and Environmental Justice Leader Cecil Corbin-Mark

Washington, DC -- On Thursday, October 15, Cecil Corbin-Mark, Deputy Director and Director of Policy Initiatives at WE ACT for Environmental Justice passed away.

In response, Sierra Club National Director of Policy Advocacy and Legal Leslie Fields released the following statement:

“The Sierra Club mourns the loss of our friend Cecil Corbin-Mark. A giant among environmental justice advocates, Cecil’s vision and sense of justice leaves a permanent imprint on his community in Harlem, his home state of New York, and throughout the world.

“Cecil always said everything should be done “with love.” Together, we will go forward with love, we will remember and honor his legacy with love, and we will all strive to both do and be better with love.
