“Ayer, el mundo presenció cómo supremacistas blancos armados —alentados por Donald Trump, Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, y los actos y declaraciones de los líderes republicanos del Congreso— protagonizaron un golpe fallido. Todos siguieron los pasos de los traidores cuya bandera enarbolaron, amenazando la seguridad de dedicados funcionarios y de nuestra democracia. Mientras que su violencia quedó impune, su insurrección y los líderes electos cuyas mentiras y retórica traicioneras incitaron estos actos tienen que pagar las consecuencias.
“Renunciar ahora no es un acto patriótico, es un acto de cobardía. Si el gabinete de Trump no encuentra el coraje de invocar la Enmienda 25 de la Constitución, entonces el Congreso tiene que reunirse de inmediato para enjuiciarlo y expulsarlo del poder. Tras esto, tienen que prestar atención a quienes se han aliado con ellos y ayudado a fomentar esta insurrección y expulsarlos del Congreso. El futuro de nuestra democracia y libertades dependen de ello”.

Trump and Congressional Republicans Complicit in Yesterday’s Terrorist Acts Must be Removed
“Yesterday, the world watched as armed white supremacists -- fueled by Donald Trump, Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and Congressional Republican leadership’s actions and rhetoric -- mounted a failed coup. They followed in the footsteps of the traitors whose flag they waved, threatening the safety of hardworking public servants and of our democracy. While their violence went unchecked, their insurrection and the elected leaders whose treasonous lies and rhetoric drove their actions must be held accountable.
“Resigning now isn't a patriotic act, it's an act of cowardice. If Trump's cabinet cannot find the courage required to invoke the 25th Amendment, then Congress must reconvene immediately to impeach and remove him from office. After doing so, they must turn their attention to those who have sat beside them and helped foment this insurrection and expel them from the halls of Congress. The fate of our democracy and freedoms depends on it.”
