WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, the House Natural Resources Committee is taking up the Recovering America's Wildlife Act. This bill would invest nearly $1.4 billion for states, territories, and tribes to amplify their work in recovering, conserving, and protecting at-risk wildlife and habitat.

In response, Kirin Kennedy, Director for People and Nature Policy released the following statement:

“We need major investments to truly address the growing biodiversity crisis, and by extension, the climate crisis. The provisions of this landmark bill would provide much-needed funding to allow state and tribal leaders to collaboratively conserve and restore fish and wildlife species at risk of extinction. The Sierra Club looks forward to the passage of this bipartisan bill and its advancement in the Senate.”
