WASHINGTON, D.C. -- This week the Sierra Club is launching a targeted ad campaign in nine states urging Senate Democrats to pass bold climate action that invests in communities struggling with rising prices, systemic injustice, and economic inequity.

This ad campaign continues the momentum of the movement-wide grassroots mobilization on Earth Day demanding that Congress address the interlocking crises of climate change, high energy costs, lack of access to care, and environmental injustice.

The campaign includes digital ads in the key states of Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

The ads are running at a crucial moment, when there’s still a clear pathway for historic investments to meaningfully curb carbon emissions and ensure a healthy and just future for people in communities across the country.

“Time is running out for the Senate to pass a budget reconciliation package that includes at least $555 billion in investments in climate, care, jobs, and justice,” said Sierra Club Legislative Director Melinda Pierce. “The Sierra Club urgently calls on Democrats in Congress to deliver on a suite of investments that will create millions of family-sustaining union jobs; promote and ease a transition to clean energy; expand access to public transit, education, and healthcare; and make electric vehicles, solar power, and utility bills more affordable. All this must be accomplished in a way that prioritizes communities of color and low-income communities that are hit hardest by pollution, climate-fueled disasters, and racial injustice. The time is now.”

Examples of the ad, which will run on various digital platforms in the target states, are below:
