In response, Athan Manuel, Sierra Club Lands Protection Program Director, released the following statement:

“We’re pleased to see Laura Daniel-Davis’ nomination move forward, despite repeated delays in the process, and look forward to her swift confirmation in the full Senate, so that she can be in a position to ensure our public lands, waters, and coasts endure for the benefit for all. We’re confident that with her exemplary, decades-long record of public lands conservation work, she’ll quickly move forward in setting a strong agenda that protects our lands and waters, recovers at-risk wildlife, strengthens community and Tribal relationships, and ensures equitable access to our treasured places.”
