SALT LAKE CITY, UT Today Rocky Mountain Power submitted its biennial Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) that foreshadows where the utility plans to get power for the next twenty years. Although the plan forecasts substantial and needed acquisition of new clean energy resources, Rocky Mountain Power stopped short of committing to the clean energy future the world’s leading scientists have made clear is necessary to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

Culley 3 is the last of CenterPoint’s coal units to be announced for retirement. AB Brown retires this year and Culley 2 retires in 2025. CenterPoint also plans to end its cooperation agreement with Alcoa to burn coal at Unit 4 of its Warrick Super Polluter coal plant in 2024.

St. Louis, MO – Today, the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC), which regulates monopoly utilities like Ameren Missouri, unanimously approved the utility’s proposal to build and own a 150 megawatt solar farm in White County, Illinois. That is enough clean energy to power about 16,000 homes. Sierra Club intervened before the PSC in support of the Boomtown Solar Project.
