Washington, D.C. - Today, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the launch of the 2024 Clean School Bus Rebates Program, which will offer funding for school districts to move dirty diesel buses off their routes and transition to a cleaner school bus fleet. EPA will accept applications through January 9, 2025 and expects to award $965 million for new, zero-emission and clean school buses.

Treasury’s guidance makes the credit available to two-thirds of the U.S. population, covering many low-income and rural communities.

WASHINGTON, DC – A new report reveals that Toyota is slowing its production plans for electric vehicles (EVs). The company is slashing EV production plans by a third by 2026, decreasing its goal from 1.5 million to 1 million. Toyota, which currently only has one fully electric vehicle for sale in the U.S. but has engaged in heavy greenwashing in its marketing, using the phrases “Beyond Zero” and “electrified” for vehicles that still run on fossil fuels.

Washington, DC – Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the 25 applicants who were selected for Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program implementation awards. The grants will go to state, local, and regional entities fighting climate pollution across sectors, with many focusing on clean transportation projects that will slash pollution from the nation’s top polluting sector and invest in clean public transportation and zero-emission vehicles. Of the total, the EPA is investing $1.18 billion in CPRG funds into transportation, expected to reduce up to three billion vehicle miles traveled (VMT), a powerful metric that demonstrates how reductions in carbon emissions and congestion leads to better air quality and less time spent commuting.
