The event will draw speakers from multiple public lands advocacy groups and Arizona residents who will stress the importance of public lands protections for the state’s economy, wildlife and residents.

KAMAS, UT. --  Local organizers and community members will host a call-to-action event in an effort to fight back a Trump-ordered review of Utah’s national monuments-- Bears Ears and Grand Staircase- Escalante. The evening will feature leaders from Utah Dine Bikeyah, Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, Sierra Club and members of the community.

Porterville, CA -- On Saturday, Californians will restore trails in the Giant Sequoia National Monument as part of an effort to push back against a Trump-ordered review of the national monuments in the state. The group will finish the day with a hike (2 p.m.- dark) showing the the threat of permanent damage to Giant Sequoias and the surrounding landscape from logging if these areas lose their monument designation.

Las Vegas, NV-- On Saturday, the Sierra Club and several allies will host a press conference and rally urging the Trump Administration to maintain protections on Nevada’s National Monuments and our iconic public lands-- places that are currently under attack by the administration. The event will feature North Las Vegas City Councilman Isaac Barron, Former Las Vegas Band of Paiute Councilwoman Fawn Douglas, and Christian Gerlach of the Sierra Club.

The event comes just days before Secretary Zinke’s national monument recommendations. A change in their designation status could put 27 of the country’s national monuments at risk of drilling, clear cutting and development.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Yesterday, the National Park Service reversed bans on disposable water bottles in National Parks-- another reversal of an Obama-era environmental policy. The ban originally was placed as an effort to increase the agency’s sustainability efforts and reduce carbon emissions.
