New York -- Today, a coalition of 40 environmental, labor, and transportation industry stakeholders in New York submitted a formal petition to the New York Public Service Commission calling for an Order Establishing a Separate Proceeding to Advance New York’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Market. The requested proceeding would promote a coordinated, proactive approach to New York’s EV initiatives and the petition also asks that New York’s utilities submit proposals to accelerate installation of EV charging infrastructure and EV customer education.

When Donald Trump reversed the rejection of the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, he touted his plan to require that the pipeline be built using only American-made steel. Since then, the commitment to American steel has been dropped from his stump speech, and the administration’s recently released infrastructure plan includes nothing about requiring American steel in pipelines.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—Even as Duke is asking for rate increases on families and businesses to pay for its statewide coal ash cleanup, the utility has now announced a $200 million dollar plan to convert the four coal units at the Marshall Steam Station to burn a mix of coal and fracked gas.

Bozeman, MT-- Yesterday, the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission voted unanimously against a grizzly bear hunt in Montana outside the boundaries of Yellowstone National Park-- blocking a trophy hunt of the species in the state for 2018. In making their decision, officials noted ongoing litigation challenging the loss of federal protections for the Yellowstone grizzly bear population.
