The American West is indisputably tied to and known for its public lands. Western communities are thriving thanks to a growing outdoor economy founded on balanced recreation, public land protections, and wildlife conservation. Our Wild America is working to keep public lands, including national parks, monuments and forests, safe from fossil fuel, timber and mining destruction. We’re also working to increase opportunities for people from all walks of life to have access to their public lands so they can get outside.

The West’s iconic places range from distinctive desert habitat to beautiful mountains that host a myriad of animals and plant life. These places provide home to a diverse population of Westerners. Our Wild America is partnering with recreation retailers, Tribal Nations and outdoor enthusiasts to save our public lands from being sold out to private industry and stripped from future generations. This includes fighting for wildlife protections, maintenance of the West’s many national parks and monuments, and preserving lands and waters across the region. In the West especially, Our Wild America recognizes and communicates the value of public lands for their cultural and spiritual significance, economic potential, and accessibility for everyday people.
