Family art days August 4 & 19 to RISE for Climate, Jobs & Justice!

We are gearing up to RISE for Climate, Jobs & Justice: the biggest climate march the West Coast has ever seen! To prepare to make a big impact at the September 8th march in San Francisco, join us this month for two days of art making:

First Art Event

This Saturday August 4th
11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sierra Club SF Bay Chapter
2530 San Pablo Ave, Ste I, Berkeley CA 94702
RSVP!

Help build a large statement piece to draw extra attention to the cause; plus, make eye-catching signs that highlight why you are marching.

Second Art Event

Sunday August 19th
2:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Albany Memorial Park
1325 Portland Ave, Albany, CA 94706
RSVP!

Decorate Sierra Club t-shirts, or bring an umbrella, tablecloth (AKA your superhero cape!), or other item to embellish.

I hope you and your family can join us at one or both of these events to get creative and share ideas for messages and visuals that will convey the urgency of real climate action. We will provide art materials (including Sierra Club t-shirts), but feel free to be resourceful and bring anything you would like to incorporate.

The Rise for Climate, Jobs & Justice March is our big moment to shine a spotlight on the climate crisis. As public officials from around the globe converge in San Francisco for the Global Climate Action Summit, we need you to join us on the streets to demand real climate leadership. We’re at a critical crossroads to protect our climate, and while many leaders want to move us backward, the climate movement has the opportunity to show up and transition us forward.

I hope you will join us at our August art workshops to develop the visual materials that will send our message to global leaders. And don't forget to RSVP for the September 8th March!
