Sierra Club Action Hours

Sierra Club's Virtual Action Hours are a place for concerned and overwhelmed people to make sense of what Trump is throwing at us and take meaningful action together. In one hour a month, you'll get the key updates you need to know and take collective action to resist the Trump administration and their corporate polluter allies.

These interactive gatherings will take place virtually, so you can join from wherever you live and take action alongside thousands of other Sierra Club advocates.

Actions will change month to month, and might include calling your federal representatives or other decision makers, sharing your views on social media, writing a letter to the editor, practicing storytelling, and more.

Ways to Get Involved

During our Action Hour on protecting our public lands, we learned about threats to our nation's mountains, forests, deserts, rivers, prairies, and coastlines and how everyone who cares about the outdoors to help protect them. We took action to call our representatives and brainstorm how to grow our movement to protect public lands.

Ways to Get Involved

During our Action Hour on Defending the Endangered Species Act, we learned about threats to wildlife protections and how Trump and his allies in Congress are trying to undermine or completely erase this landmark legislation. Then, we took action to call our representatives and write letters to the editors to protect endangered species.

Ways to Get Involved

During our Data Center Action Hour, we learned about the environmental and social impacts of data center growth across the country. Then, we took action at the state level by contacting our state utility commissions with personalized stories and amplified this issue to our family and friends on social media.

During November's Action Hour, we focused on having conversations with our loved ones about our climate, public lands, protections for our air and water, and other topics related to our shared environment. We brainstormed where and with who to have the conversarions and practiced in groups!

During October's Clean Energy Action Hour, we heard from Sierra Club policy experts about attacks on our clean energy future and what we're doing about it. Then we took two actions together. First, we called our Governors. Next, we shared with our community on social media or via email.

During September's Action Hour, we worked to defending our communities from climate disasters. We heard from Sierra Club policy experts about making polluters pay for the damage they've caused. Then we took two actions together. First, we wrote letters to the editor. Next, we made a preparedness plan and shared an emergency Go Bag.

Across the nation, local state-based chapters bring like-minded people together to organize and connect. Even during uncertain times at the federal level, we can advance renewable energy solutions, advocate for clean air and water, protect wildlife and natural spaces, and engage in lobbying at your state legislature to make sure our voices are heard.
