Sierra Student Coalition

The Sierra Student Coalition is a network of young people across the country working to protect our generation’s future. We train, support, and organize youth to run effective campaigns and develop as leaders in service of movements for environmental justice.

About Us

The Sierra Student Coalition (SSC) is a network of young people organizing for environmental justice. We offer training programs, popular education, leadership development opportunities, campaigns, resources, and a community of support for youth across the country.

The SSC was founded in 1991 and was a hub of youth organizing for over 30 years before 2023, when the program was put on a pause. In 2025, a group of chapter directors and youth decided to host a summer program (SPROG), where a group of over 40 students voted to bring back the coalition. The SSC is currently working on building up our base and making plans for the next SPROG.
