Legacy Giving

What do you want your legacy to be?

A planned gift to the Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter will create a lasting legacy that provides for a sustainable and healthy future.  Naming us as a beneficiary in your will, living trust or other estate plans will provide a significant, meaningful and enduring impact to your Loma Prieta Chapter. You may also choose to list us in your life insurance policy, IRA or retirement plan.

Whichever strategy you choose, planned gifts give you the benefits of remaining in full control of your assets during your lifetime and the ability to modify your gift to address changing circumstances. Under current tax law, there is no upper limit on the estate tax deduction for your charitable bequests.

Most donors define their gifts as a general use gift.  This type of gift is the most helpful to us because it allows us to direct funds to our most crucial conservation priorities. However, should you have a specific environmental or program interest, or if you wish to establish an endowment, we would be happy to assist you in planning a gift that meets your interests and the long-term goals of the Sierra Club and Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter.

You may find sample language for your will or trust here: Bequest Information.

Should you decide to include Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club in your plans, we hope you’ll let us know. This information helps guide our long-term planning and allows us to express our thanks to you and to our community. We would also appreciate the opportunity to welcome you into the Loma Prieta Legacy Society.

To request more information or notify us about your plan, please contact our Development Coordinator Justyna Guterman at  Justyna.guterman@sierraclub.org or call 650-390-8494.  If you wish to explore Planned Giving options other than a simple will or bequest, please contact the Sierra Club’s Office of Advancement and be sure to specify that the gift is to be earmarked for the Loma Prieta Chapter.

Thank you for your gift.
