Senator Cardin acts to keep fossil fuels in the ground

Maryland’s Senator Ben Cardin is an original cosponsor of S. 2238, a bill that would, if enacted, prohibit the extraction of fossil fuels from America’s Public Lands.

As an original cosponsor, Senator Cardin has placed himself at the forefront of those legislators who take the seriously the imperative to keep fossil fuels in the ground.

Of course, his action will no doubt provoke furious pushback from the fossil fuel industry and the fossil-fuel billionaires who use their riches to oppose effective action addressing global warming.
