STEFAN FALKE is a New York City based German photographer. He works for international magazines, film studios and corporate clients. His personal projects include books on Trinidadian Moko Jumbies and La Frontera: Artists on the US|Mexico Border. In ten years he has covered over 2000 miles, and photographed more than 200 artists on both sides of the culturally vibrant border. His awarded work has been exhibited and published in European galleries and on border walls.
STEFAN FALKE es un fotógrafo alemán que radica en la Ciudad de Nueva York. Trabaja para revistas internacionales, estudios cinematográficos y clientes corporativos. Sus proyectos personales incluyen libros acerca de los Moko Jumbies Trinitenses y La Frontera: Artistas en la frontera de EE. UU.|México. En 10 años ha cubierto más de 2,000 millas y fotografiado a más de 200 artistas en ambos lados de una frontera culturalmente vibrante. Su obra galardonada ha sido exhibida y publicada en galerías europeas y en muros fronterizos.
BILL HATCHER is a documentary photographer for National Geographic, Smithsonian, Discovery, GEO, Newsweek and others. For this exhibit Bill has selected images from the borderlands he began shooting in 2014. The photos were made while working on commissions for the Smithsonian magazine, the Food and Environmental Reporting Network (FERN), the National Environmental Education Foundation, Arizona Highways magazine, The Sonoran Institute as well as personal projects around the border.
BILL HATCHER es un fotógrafo documentalista para National Geographic, Smithsonian, Discovery, GEO, Newsweek y otras publicaciones. Para esta exhibición, Bill ha seleccionado imágenes de las tierras fronterizas que comenzó a fotografiar en el 2014. Las fotos fueron tomadas mientras trabajaba en comisiones para la revista Smithsonian, revistas de comida, medioambiente y educación, la revista Arizona Highways, The Sonoran Institute, así como proyectos personales acerca de la frontera.
ALEJANDRA PLATT from Hermosillo, Sonora has worked steadily for 24 years as a fine art photographer, creating annual exhibitions that have been shown internationally. Alejandra dedicates her artistic life, in her words, "to the indigenous people of México, primarily Sonora, because they are our roots, our essence and they have much to teach, even in their silence."
ALEJANDRA PLATT de Hermosillo, Sonora ha trabajado constantemente por 24 años como una fotógrafa artística, creando exhibiciones anuales que han sido expuestas internacionalmente. Alejandra dedica su vida artística, en sus palabras, “a la gente indígena de México, principalmente de Sonora, porque son nuestras raíces, nuestra esencia y tienen tanto que enseñarnos, incluso en su silencio.”
KRISTA SCHLYER, photographer and curator of the exhibit Continental Divide: Wildlife, People and the Border Wall, and author of the book by the same name, created both as declarations of the bold, rich, irreplaceable beauty of the nature and cultures of the borderlands; and as expressions of resistance against negative stereotypes and xenophobia espoused by some politicians and individuals.
KRISTA SCHLYER, fotógrafa y curadora de la exhibición Divisoria Continental: Vida Silvestre, la Gente, y el Muro Fronterizo, y autora del libro del mismo nombre, creó ambos como declaraciones de la belleza audaz, rica e irreemplazable de la naturaleza y las culturas de las tierras fronterizas; y como unas expresiones de resistencia en contra de los estereotipos negativos y la xenofobia promovida por algunos políticos e individuos.
DR. DENI SEYMOUR is an internationally recognized scholar on protohistoric and historic Native American and Spanish colonial archaeology and ethnohistory. For 30 years she has studied the ancestral Apache, Sobaipuri-O’odham, and lesser-known mobile groups. Dr. Seymour and her associates, Elder Tony Burrell and Cultural Specialist David Tenario of Wa:k, strive to promote understanding of the human experience through the eyes of the Wa:k O’odham and their ancestors.
DR. DENI SEYMOUR es un experto en protohistoria e historia de arqueología Nativo Americana y colonial Española e historia étnica reconocido a nivel internacional. JASMINE STEVENS is an O'Odham student at Baboquivari High School in Sells, Arizona. Her photographic work was included in the 2018 Tucson Hip Hop festival. Her portraits reflect the vibrant colors and the multi-faceted experiences of youth facing the division of their Indigenous cultural homelands within the border region.

BOB TORREZ born in central Arizona, grew up in southern California.He began surfing at 13 and works as a professional visual storyteller. His documentary work is internationally published with the New York Times, the Guardian, and is in the University of Arizona Archives. Since his return to Arizona in 2011, he documents the beautiful but deadly borderlands. Volunteering with humanitarian aid groups has influenced his creative work. His concern for the human condition and love for the ocean explore the metaphors of water in the desert that once was an ancient sea. He feels, “We cannot allow deaths of any kind to result from the lack of the sacred gift of water.”
BOB TORREZ, nacido en el centro de Arizona, creció en el sur de California. Empezó a surfear a los 13 años y trabaja como narrador visual de historias. Su obra documentalista ha sido publicada internacionalmente por el New York Times, el Guardian, y se encuentra en los Archivos de la Universidad de Arizona. Desde su regreso a Arizona en el 2011, ha documentado las bellas pero letales tierras fronterizas. Su voluntariado con grupos de ayuda humanitaria ha influido en su obra creativa. Su interés por la condición humana y amor por el océano exploran las metáforas de agua en el desierto que una vez fue un mar antiguo. El siente, “No podemos permitir muertes de ningún tipo causadas por la carencia del regalo sagrado del agua.”
RAECHEL RUNNING is a freelance creative and curator of Lens on the Border. Raechel, of Trinidadian descent, lived in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico for five years, documenting the Mata Ortiz potters and the regional cultures from the Grand Canyon to Copper Canyon. She is also an artist with Amazonaid and Trappings of the West; Her border work is included in the Centro Pompidou in Paris and in the permanent collection of the Musical Instrument Museum.
RAECHEL RUNNING es una creativa independiente y curadora de Lentes en la Frontera. Raechel, de descendencia Trinitense, vivió por 5 años en Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, documentando el trabajo de los alfareros de Mata Ortiz y las culturas regionales del Gran Cañón hasta el Cañón del Cobre.
