Climate Action Hours

Climate Action Hours are a place for concerned and overwhelmed people to make sense of what Trump is throwing at us and take meaningful action together. In one hour a month, you'll get the key updates you need to know and take collective action to resist the Trump administration and their corporate polluter allies.

These interactive gatherings will take place virtually, so you can join from wherever you live and take action alongside thousands of other Sierra Club advocates.

Register for the next Climate Action Hour in February on Wednesday February 26, at 3 pm PT/ 6 pm ET!

Check out past Climate Action Hours

During January's Climate Action Hour, we heard from Sierra Club policy experts about the state of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which is the largest ever climate, jobs, and justice legislation passed by President Biden in 2022. Then we took two actions together. First, we made calls to our Congressional Representatives. Next, we posted on our representative’s social media or emailed our friends and family.

Learn More about the Inflation Reduction Act

In the first Climate Action Hour, Sierra Club policy experts gave us a quick rundown about the state of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in 2022 during the Biden administration represented the largest-ever climate legislation in U.S. history. It only happened thanks to decades of grassroots movement building and growing public pressure that pushed climate action from the bottom of the to-do list to a top national priority.

While the Trump administration has attacked the IRA, many Republicans oppose the repeal of this legislation because of the investment and job growth they've seen in their districts. This means there is a strong chance of protecting these clean energy policies if we take action and apply pressure. Read more about the IRA here.
