Executive Committee Election Information

The Delaware Chapter of the Sierra Club is dedicated to building a powerful and inclusive environmental movement and needs board members from diverse backgrounds and experiences to reach our highest potential.

The Chapter Executive Committee (ExCom) sets the priorities, policies, and budget (with member input) that enables volunteers and staff to carry out the mission of the Sierra Club’s Delaware Chapter. The ExCom also reviews endorsements of candidates for Chapter elective political offices and helps maintain our fundraising and outreach efforts. All ExCom members remain committed to the Jemez Principals of Democratic Organizing to help move our work at the Chapter through a lens of equity and inclusiveness.

If this sounds like something you are interested in, please fill out our nomination form here.

Candidates must be current members and only members will be able to vote in December. Join Here if you are not a member or email Member Services if you are unsure if you are a current member.

Four at-large seats will be filled in the 2022 fall election. Those elected will serve two-year terms starting in January 2023. The Nominating & Elections Committee encourages members from any part of Delaware, background, race, gender, or age to apply.

Our bylaws also allow for the nomination of candidates by petition if at least 25 Chapter members submit a handwritten petition naming the candidate before November 7th, 2022. The candidate must agree to serve before being nominated by petition.
