We have taken significant steps in our state to clean up and protect our air, water, and soil; however, ongoing efforts are underway to roll back that progress. That is why the Delaware Chapter is always hard at work to support policies that clean up and protect our air, water, and soil, and to stop any policies that threaten our state's ability to protect public health and the environment.

Climate and Energy Committee

The Climate and Energy Committee works on four primary issues: Climate Pollution Reduction, Clean Energy Policies, Clean Transportation Policies, and Climate-informed Land Use Policies. We meet monthly and hear from speakers, take action to promote our priority policies, and organize our efforts across the state. Environmental Justice Committee

We strive to amplify the work of environmental justice advocates fighting for the right to clean air, water, and land in Delaware. We work with community members and organizations to improve the permitting process, address pollution in communities, advocate for smart and equitable land use, reduce energy burdens, and more. Land and Water Committee

The Land and Water Committee works to promote the protection of our most valuable ecological resources in Delaware, including old-growth forests, wetlands, our inland bays, and our precious remaining open space. We achieve this by focusing on three key solutions: eliminating sprawling single-family developments as the primary housing option in Delaware, ensuring adequate rules and regulations to protect vulnerable ecosystems, and collaborating with counties to encourage the adoption of policies that create more complete, walkable, and bikable communities in Delaware. Political & Legislative Committee

The Political & Legislative Committee has two functions. During the years with active election cycles in Delaware, the team focuses its efforts on endorsing and supporting candidates that align with the priorities of the Delaware Chapter. In the years between elections, the Political & Legislative Committee focuses its efforts on lobbying legislators and educating them on why our priorities need to be at the top of their list down in Dover. Outreach & Events Committee

The Outreach & Events Committee focuses on promoting all the great work of our Chapter through our website, email, and social media, and helping to plan our larger group events.
