Celebrate Earth Day with the Sierra Club Georgia Chapter!

Earth Day: Explore, Enjoy, Protect

Since 1970, environmental advocates have celebrated Earth Day to show their support for environmental protection and the need to look after our planet. More than 50 years later, our tactics have evolved with the times, incorporating virtual events, digital calls to action, and using the internet to take part in a global celebration from the comfort of our homes.

With Earth Day rapidly approaching, we wanted to let you know about three upcoming events where you can join your fellow Sierrans in celebrating our wins, learning about important issues like reducing waste and composting, and commemorating another year in our fight to protect the environment.

First, we’re hosting a “zero-waste” event at Steady Hand Brewing Company in Atlanta on Sunday, April 21, from 2 to 5 PM. In order to keep from adding more single-use items from the landfill, we’re encouraging folks to bring your own reusable plates, silverware, and water bottles. We’ll bring snacks and desserts.

The event will also feature music from the Atlanta Outdoor Band, a short talk about zero-waste practices, door prizes, and an Earth Day trivia contest

RSVP for our April 21 event!

If you can volunteer, please stop by all the same! We’ll be telling folks about the good work the Sierra Club Georgia Chapter has been doing around our state and handing out some Sierra Club-branded swag
