There is no candidate running for any office in Georgia who promises to shake things up the way Mokah Johnson will when she gets elected. The district she aims to represent, HD 117, is based in Athens, where a true progressive can and should win. Mokah is a champion for the community, for racial justice, and for fundamental reform of our society steeped in systems of oppression. Whether fighting for environmental justice, workers’ rights, voting rights or criminal justice reform, Mokah is a compelling moral voice and passionate advocate. Sierra Club believes, as Mokah does, that you can’t clean up the planet without being committed to changing a system that routinely makes victims out of poor people, people of color, and people without economic power. She is the real deal, and will be in the vanguard to change Georgia for the better. We could not be more excited to endorse Mokah in her bid for a House seat.
