Most higher level elected officials get their start in local races. Because there are so many local elections with a multiplicity of issues, concerns, and jurisdictions. Sierra Club Woods and Wetlands typically does not endorse candidates at this level. Instead, we leave it to you, our informed and passionate environmental voters, to exercise your responsibility and support candidates who align with your values.
Take the time to research their positions, engage and support the candidates who best represent your commitment to environmental sustainability, and make sure you vote in the upcoming election this spring. If you have questions about local candidates, Woods and Wetlands members are usually eager to share their personal positions and tell you why they support a particular candidate. In local elections, this is far more powerful than an endorsement. We almost always know these candidates who live in and represent our communities
So here's your friendly reminder from Woods and Wetlands: Be informed. Make a plan. Get out the vote!
