Pass Pipeline Bill HF943

Update: this bill was sidelined by the legislative funnel and will not be moving forward this legislative session.

Take Action to Stop the Carbon Pipelines

After four years of hard work, the Iowa House passed a bill to ban eminent domain for carbon pipelines, 82-12.  Now HF943 must pass out of a Senate Commerce Subcommittee and full Commerce Committee by Friday, April 4th - or we have to find a way to pass the bill outside the normal process.

Carbon pipelines are dangerous, they threaten our aquifers and eminent domain should not be used for private gain.  HF943 bans eminent domain for carbon pipelines on ag land in Iowa.  South Dakota just passed a nearly identical law and now Iowa should too.

For four years, Senate leadership and the Governor’s Office have held up our bills, ensuring they never get a debate.  We need your help to ensure our bills make it through the subcommittee and committee by Friday, April 4.

Please contact Commerce Committee Chair Senator Bousselot and Subcommittee member Senator Webster and ask them to pass HF943 by Friday.
