The Oregon Sierra Club is proud to endorse Democrat Val Hoyle for Oregon’s 4th Congressional District. Val is eminently the better candidate on issues and values that we prioritize: the environment, climate action, support for working families, voting rights, civil rights, healthcare, women's right to bodily autonomy, and equity and justice, among others.

"In Congress, I will join the call for bold action on climate legislation to power us off of fossil fuels while creating good jobs and investments in our communities, without leaving any worker behind,” Hoyle states. Val knows that climate change and environmental degradation aren’t issues that can wait. She is committed to moving America to a 100% clean energy standard, fighting for a just transition to renewable energy sources, halting new fossil fuels leasing on federal public lands, and pushing for investments to make Oregon a leader in renewable energy generation. She opposes any new fossil fuel infrastructure development and refuses contributions from the fossil fuel industry.

As Oregon’s Labor Commissioner, State Representative and Lane County community leader, Val has made a difference for working families and communities of the 4th Congressional District since 2009. And from her time as Oregon House Democratic Leader, she knows how to turn our progressive values into results. As our next member of Congress, Val will tackle the most important and insistent priorities facing our future.
