Washington, DC -- Today, the Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force, co-chaired by former Secretary of State John Kerry and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, released its policy recommendations for tackling the climate crisis.

In response, Sierra Club Political Director Ariel Hayes released the following statement:

“As Donald Trump continues to solidify his place in history as the worst president ever for our clean air and water, these policy recommendations are a strong and welcome reminder of what climate leadership can and must look like. The Biden-Sanders Unity Plan sets the benchmark for a Biden administration, providing a clear roadmap for tackling the climate crisis while creating millions of jobs. The Sierra Club applauds the Unity Task Force’s policy recommendations and continues to use every tool possible to defeat Trump and elect a president who will put people’s health and safety over the profits of corporate polluters.”
