Washington, DC — El Presidente Biden renominó hoy a Laura Daniel-Davis como la principal subsecretaria asistente de gestión de terrenos y minerales del Departamento del Interior.
La nominación ahora se dirige a la Comisión de Energía y Recursos Naturales del Senado para ser considerada. En julio de 2022, la comisión aprobó la nominación de Daniel-Davis, pero el Pleno del Senado no actuó antes del fin del 117 Congreso.
Como respuesta, Athan Manuel, director de la Protección de Terrenos del Sierra Club, emitió la siguiente declaración:

Sierra Club Urges Swift Confirmation for Daniel-Davis
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, President Biden re-nominated Laura Daniel-Davis as the U.S. Department of the Interior’s principal deputy assistant secretary for land and minerals management. The nomination now heads to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources for consideration. In July 2022, the committee moved Daniel-Davis’ nomination forward, but the Senate did not act on the nomination before the end of the 117th Congress.
In response, Athan Manuel, Sierra Club Lands Protection Program Director, released the following statement:
“Laura Daniel-Davis is a highly qualified candidate to oversee lands and minerals at the Department of the Interior, and we’re pleased to see President Biden re-submit her name for confirmation. We strongly urge Senator Joe Manchin and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to swiftly advance Laura’s nomination to the Senate floor.
She has a decades-long record of working to conserve public lands, and we are confident she will advance a strong agenda that safeguards our lands and waters, protects at-risk wildlife, strengthens relationships with Tribes and communities, and increases equitable access to nature on these treasured landscapes. We look forward to the Senate confirming her nomination without further delay.”
