Washington, DC – Early this morning, Senate Republicans adopted a FY2025 Budget Resolution that makes dangerous cuts to essential services and paves the way for huge handouts to billionaires and the fossil fuel industry.
In response, Sierra Club Legislative Director Melinda Pierce released the following statement:
“Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans are hellbent on gutting funding for essential services the American people rely on just to give yet another handout to their polluter pals and billionaire buddies. They’ve shown they’re willing to deny science, defy the law, and do everything in their power to make lives harder for working families and exacerbate the very real and evident dangers of the climate crisis. The Sierra Club will continue to stand up to this administration and protect clean air, clean water, and a healthy life for all.”
