COLUMBIA, S.C. -- U.S. Conference of Mayors Vice President Mayor Steve Benjamin along with his Mayors for 100% Clean Energy Co-Chairs today introduced a landmark resolution to the U.S. Conference of Mayors that would formally establish support from the nation’s mayors for the goal of 100 percent renewable energy in cities nationwide.

CARSON CITY, NEVADA -- Today, the Nevada Assembly passed Assembly Bill 206 to increase the state's renewable portfolio standard (RPS) to 50 percent by 2030 with a goal to reach 80 percent by 2040.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Mayor Philip Levine issued a new proclamation on Wednesday endorsing a goal of powering Miami Beach entirely with clean and renewable energy.
Miami Beach is among the cities in the United States most endangered by the threats of climate change like rising sea levels, and the measure builds on Mayor Levine’s record of leadership on climate and clean energy in South Florida.

Annapolis, M.D. —The Public Service Commission (PSC) granted Skipjack Offshore Energy and U.S. Wind offshore wind renewable energy credits (ORECs) today enabling them to move forward with their proposals to build 368 megawatts of offshore wind, located off the coast of Ocean City and and Delaware, and creating 9,700 jobs in the process. The approval of these projects puts Maryland in the running for the nation’s largest offshore wind farms.

HANOVER, N.H.. – The Town of Hanover, New Hampshire last night voted to establish a goal of transitioning to 100 percent clean and renewable energy by 2050. The article approved at Tuesday’s town meeting sets a community-wide goal of transitioning to 100 percent renewable electricity by 2030 and a 2050 goal of transitioning heating and transportation to run on clean, renewable sources of energy.

Washington, DC -- Late yesterday, Donald Trump announced two nominees for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Neil Chatterjee and Rob Powelson.
In the upcoming months, FERC is expected to consider a number of pipelines, LNG terminals, and proposals from electric grid operators to pay power plant owners more and increase costs to consumers.

As California electric utilities ramp up efforts to stifle clean energy by attacking SB100, a coalition of California mayors, city councilors, and community leaders today delivered a letter to California Assemblymembers to issue their support for moving California to 100% clean energy by 2045. Today, Lewis Reed, President of the Board of Aldermen for the City of St. Louis introduced a resolution calling for the City to pursue a transition to 100 percent clean and renewable energy. If approved, St. Louis will join over 40 cities across the county that have committed to move to 100 percent clean and renewable energy like wind and solar.
