Salt Lake City, UT – On Friday, April 25, the Public Service Commission (PSC) issued an order limiting Rocky Mountain Power’s proposed rate hike, rejecting the utility’s attempt to raise power bills by more than 18%. Under the rates approved for 2025, single-family residential customers will see a 4.7% increase and multi-family residential customers will see a 3.77% increase.
Today, the Ohio legislature passed HB15 and sent it on to Governor DeWine to sign into law.
Jefferson City, Mo – Today, the Missouri Public Service Commission (PSC) approved a settlement with some intervening parties. The Sierra Club intervened in the case, but declined to join the “black box” settlement reached by other parties. The order can be found here.

MARISSA, IL - Following litigation to hold Prairie State Generating Company accountable for operating its coal-burning power plant without enforceable air permits, the Sierra Club has agreed to resolve the case after achieving its main goals in filing the suit.
Texas – Yesterday, the Trump Administration gave six coal-burning power plants in Texas an extra two years to reduce their emissions of mercury and other toxic pollutants that contaminate our air, water, and soil. Several of the nation’s top mercury-polluting power plants are in Texas and are included in the exemption.
