Indianapolis, Ind – After opposition from many organizations all session, on this Earth Day, the Indiana House of Representatives passed the Senate’s final version of the Energy Inflation Act with 63 yeas and 23 nays. House Bill 1007 now heads to Governor Braun’s desk. This comes shortly after Gov. Braun signed coal-related executive orders mimicking Trump.
Statement from Megan Anderson, Senior Beyond Coal Campaign Organizer in Indiana:
“Earth Day 2025 is now infamous for lawmakers voting to increase electric bills and spew more pollution throughout the state, delivering a win for profitable monopoly utilities and tech companies over hard-working Hoosier families.”
