WILMINGTON, DE – Today, Governor Carney announced that Delaware will join the growing list of states that are a part of the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) program, which will direct manufacturers to increasingly sell electric vehicles in the state.

Other ZEV states include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, Vermont, and Virginia.

LANSING, MI - Today, the Sierra Club released a report of independent modeling and analysis of decarbonization pathways for Michigan’s transportation sector. The report calls on Michigan to ensure 100 percent electric vehicle sales and reduce driving overall by 2035 in order for the state to reach its climate goals and protect communities from toxic air pollution from vehicles.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, President Biden’s Department of Transportation and Department of Energy announced $5 billion towards a program that aims to build out a network of 500,000 electric vehicle chargers across the nation, an investment out of the recently passed infrastructure law.

LEBANON, TN - Today, President Biden announced that Tritium, an Australia-based electric vehicle charger manufacturer, will open its first U.S. facility in Lebanon, Tennessee. This facility will produce up to 30,000 DC Fast Chargers each year and create 500 local jobs.

WASHINGTON, DC - On the heels of advocacy from environmental groups and California air quality regulators, the Washington Post reported that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) sent letters to the Postal Service today urging the agency to reconsider its plans to buy 90 percent gas-powered vehicles in its next vehicle purchase and to conduct a new, more thorough technical analysis.
