Washington, DC -- Today, Senate Republicans voted to move Donald Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, forward. Multiple women have shared their stories of sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh, and he has been caught lying numerous times while under oath. For more than 200 years, the Senate have honored a 60 vote margin for Supreme Court nominees to be moved forward. Kavanaugh only received 51.

Today the Illinois Pollution Control Board (IPCB) modified the widely criticized proposal by Governor Bruce Rauner’s administration to bail out Dynegy-Vistra coal power plants in Illinois. Dynegy and Vistra Energy recently merged in a deal worth $20 billion, yet still claimed financial hardship and urged state officials to ease clean-air rules. The proposed change would have led to worse air quality and detrimental health impacts in communities already among the hardest hit by pollution.

Fossil Fools is an aggressive midterm electoral ad campaign, launched last week by the Sierra Club Political Committee, targeting nearly a dozen incumbent Congressional Republicans and candidates for defeat.
