The decision concerns our lawsuit filed in March 2023, just days after the Biden administration approved the controversial Willow project, despite acknowledging and failing to mitigate known harms to Arctic communities, public health, wildlife, and climate.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In a win for Kentuckians, regulators at the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) approved Louisville Gas and Electric and Kentucky Utilities’ (LG&E/KU) request to install 877 MW of solar generation and a 500 MWh battery to generate and store power in the state. This decision represents a nine-fold increase in the amount of renewable energy LG&E/KU provide today.

More than 70 climate, health and consumer organizations have called for utilities across the nation to leave the American Gas Association (AGA) over their efforts to block climate policies and proliferate disinformation about the health risks of gas stove pollution. AGA receives millions in annual dues from utilities across the country, primarily paid for through customer bills.
