Eddystone, Pennsylvania - Last night, the Trump administration extended its fake ‘emergency’ order to keep the Eddystone power plant online past its scheduled retirement for the third time. The administration also extended a similar order for the J.H. Campbell coal plant in Michigan last week.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the Trump administration announced a plan to hike entrance fees for foreign tourists to visit certain National Park Service sites. 

Non-U.S. residents will now be required to pay a $100 fee to enter the 11 most popular national park sites. The price of an annual national park pass for non-U.S. residents will also rise from $80 to $250. Non-U.S. residents also won't be able to take advantage of "fee-free days" at national parks.

Last night, in an unprecedented move, the Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency gave up defending the national, health-based limits on fine particulate matter (PM2.5), also known as soot, that EPA strengthened last year. The EPA’s court filing asks the U.S, Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to strike down the soot standard.

OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha residents may continue to face toxic health risks and environmental effects from the North Omaha power plant due to a new resolution from Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) to keep burning coal. The proposal, scheduled for a vote by the OPPD board on Dec. 18, would undo a series of OPPD’s previous commitments and plans to retire coal that have been in progress since 2014.
